The Lotus

Symbolic in art, the Lotus represents the progress of the soul rising above the mud of materialism into the glow of enlightenment. Above, a tapestry by San Francisco artist Mark Adams.
It is no wonder we wish to bring the beauty of the Lotus into our gardens, a romantic desire that can easily be traced back to the period of the French Impressionists.
