Mandala: a geometric figure representing the universe in Buddhist symbolism; a symbol in a dream, representing the dreamer’s search for completeness and self-unity.
What a wonderful thing to create with children, made from found objects in the garden or the forest.

The statue, which was completed in 1300, was carved into a rock at the foot of Mt. Kamifutagoyama, facing Shojin Lake. At the time of completion, it was over four meters high. Sadly, it has fallen into disrepair.
