This is such a cool idea for do-it-yourself gardeners from The Saturday Evening Post: a spiral herb garden, made with bricks. A great tutorial at the link.

My plant picks for this edible garden, full sun, Zone 7B:

Perennial Herbs: Creeping Rosemary ‘Irene’; Creeping Thyme; Marjoram; Oregano. (Be careful about including Mint - it tends to grow past the County Line and back if it isn’t contained.)

Annual Herbs/Vegies: Basil (several different varieties); Parsley; Cilantro, Borage; Dill; Chives; a collection of baby lettuces; and a Cherry Tomato on the crest of the spiral, supported by a trellis.

* Edible Flowers: Violas, Marigolds (Signet Marigold); Scented Geraniums; Nasturtium; Borage; Dill; Cottage Pink Dianthus.
