As a long-time Edith Piaf addict, it is with pride and joy that I light upon the fact that Madeleine Peyroux is from Athens, Georgia, just east of Atlanta. A little bit Edith Piaf, a little bit Billie Holiday, with some Patsy Cline thrown in for good measure. The American jazz scene is alive and well.
